In Jersey City, the busiest days for florists are Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and the weeks before prom and Christmas, when prices rise and delivery windows fill up, so order several days ahead. Across New Jersey, delivery fees depend on distance, and hospitals and funeral homes have their own drop-off hours. For a wedding, book a consultation six to twelve months out and bring photos and a budget; for sympathy flowers, the shop can deliver straight to the funeral home if you give the service time. Check the listing for hours, delivery area and Google rating, and call to confirm what is in season.

Jersey City is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Jersey City follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Just walked in to get help with creating some custom bouquets for 4th of July. The woman did not stop what she was doing to have a conversation with me. When I showed her some photos of last year and the vases I brought with me, she simply said “I would do what you did last year.” She then proceeded to help another customer that walked in so I just walked out. She has lost herself business and I will have to do it myself.

Not sure why reviews are so low! This is my go-to fave place for flowers and been coming here since I joined the neighborhood in 2023. Kind owner always makes beautiful bouquets customized to what I ask. Owe her this review for all the praise and happiness I get from the flowers I give to my wife and mother for birthdays, holidays, and apologies! Be sure to stop by — they’re amazing!

Exchange Florist has been my local go-to florist for years when I want a good quality, full bouquet. Whether it’s for a special occasion, “just because”, or you need to say sorry and REALLY mean it, they have come through! Yes, it’s more expensive than the grocery store bouquets you can get close by… But I’ve found they offer great value relative to what you’d get ordering something online for delivery. So if you can pick up, they’re great. If you know what you want, call ahead… If you don’t, still call ahead to make sure they’re open and will be available when you want to go (It’s a small business and sometimes the humans running it have to eat or go to the restroom. I know, crazy!).

I want to support local, but it’s things like this that make it so difficult! I’ve been trying to stop by Exchange Place Florist for some time now. I always check the hours and even during the established operating times the doors remain locked! Today I think I found my reason why… I walked on over and saw there was an “out for delivery” sign. Totally get that! Then a woman in a red shirt returns with some food takeout. Not sure if that’s the kind of delivery the sign implied but whatever. The woman then proceeds to lock the door again immediately after entering. I hover for a bit, maybe she just needs to settle in? Then she comes back to the door and with a hand written “out to lunch” sign. Which I could understand except this isn’t the first time this has happened. Why have operating hours if you’re not going to abide by them? And this is my fourth attempt to shop here! Now I have to resort to big box stores or Amazon. I hope things change soon, because we’d love to have a neighboring floral/plant store.

Update: Saw the response from the owner. It’s not my first time to buy flowers, but it’s the first time I hear the so called “guard petal”. I don’t think “it’s my chose to remove it”, it’s not customers’ responsibility to recognize the so called “guard petal” and “choose to remove it or not”. Also, there aren’t too many petals left if I remove the bad ones. And some of the inner petals are in low quality. Anyway when I buy flowers, I don’t expect a semi-finished product. ——————————————————————— Original: This is the second time I buy from this store. Won’t go there any more. The flower is in super low quality.
